living in hawaii Living in Hawaii is a unique experience. Honolulu is an exciting and visitor friendly city constantly on the go welcoming international visitors, students and locals. The island culture with a diverse cultural community and ideal climate makes living in the "Islands" one of the most enjoyable places to live. Here in Honolulu there are lots of opportunities for hiking, ocean swimming, cultural events.

Transportation Our college is conveniently located within walking distance from the main bus lines which go through downtown Honolulu. If you live in or near Honolulu it is easy to get around Honolulu by The Bus. Once you find where you will be living you can find out more about Honolulu City transit bus routes by visiting The Bus website.

Housing We currently are unable to offer on campus housing at this time and students are expected to locate their own housing. Rental housing is in high demand in Hawaii due to Hawaii's popularity of a worldwide destination for many students and vacationers. When locating to Hawaii please be sure to give enough time to secure a rental unit. Be aware that this can be time consuming and a lengthy process to find suitable housing for you.

Local apartment prices will vary in different locations. Prices range from: Studio: $600-$1,000 (one bedroom with kitchenette and bathroom) 1 Bedroom: $900-$1,500 (one bedroom, living room, kitchen and bathroom) 2 Bedrooms: $1,300-$2,000 (two bedrooms, living room, kitchen and bathroom)

Food Our college is conveniently located within walking distance of Chinatown where there are many good restaurants to choose from. You can choose Chinese, Vietnamese, Mexican, Zippy's (Like Denny's) or many other kinds from the International Food Court located two blocks away from the school.

Beaches
There are two famous beach located near our college. The first one is Waikiki Beach which in Hawaiian means "Sprouting Water" and is only 15 minutes from our college. It is one of the most famous beaches in the world. Waikiki Beach is excellent for swimming, surfing, and boogie boarding. The second beach is Ala Moana Beach which means "The Path to the Sea" is about 10 minutes drive from our college. This is a beautiful 76-acre park just west of the famous Waikiki beach area. This beach is noted for its excellent swimming, surfing, and body boarding. There are also lovely shaded picnic facilities and grassy areas perfect for student outings. Be careful during high surf times which may occur during the summer months. Obey all postings and warnings.

Hiking
Hiking is one of the most beautiful and worthwhile adventures that Oahu has to offer. The island of Oahu is the second oldest of the major Hawaiian Islands and therefore the volcanoes are extinct. The huge amount of rainfall in portions of Oahu gives the island many carved and chiseled features along with beautiful forests, valleys and gorgeous foliage. This provides the perfect environment of hiking trails for hike trips, nature hike tours and hiking eco-tours of all varieties. The following are some helpful links:
